Tuesday: Tip of the Day

The Painless Facelift

photo from Jessica Longo
Come summertime, you see it everywhere. The instant tummy tuck, 5 minutes to lean butt cheeks, cellulite free lotion potion, 338 ways to to tone your arms. I get sick of it! So, instead of giving you meaningless tips for a bikini ready bod (which I find to be pointless), get to be best friends with your bronzer.

Step 1: Bronze. Using a fluffy powder brush, apply bronzer directly under (yes, under, not on top!) of your cheek bones. Bronzer creates a 'shadow' effect so applying it under your cheekbones gives the illusion of a more angular jawline.

Step 2: Highlight. Swipe a highlighting stick from your temples to the bottom of your eye sockets (right where your cheekbone is at its highest point). Blend with your fingers. A highlighter works to catch light and give skin a radiant glow. Combining highlighting and shading techniques gives you a quickie facelift!

Tools:

Powder Brush
Brush 5 Powder, $78; trishmcevoy.com

Mrs. Trish is the brush guru. I bought my first set in 8th grade and still use them today. Trust me, it's worth the splurge!

Bronzer
Bronzer, $28; cargocosmetics.com

Cargo is my all-time favorite powder bronzer. The color is perfect. You don't look like a glitter explosion or Malibu Barbie. Perfection!

Highlighter
The Multiple in Copacabana, $39; narscosmetics.com

If you've ever tried The Multiple, you would know. Because you would never be the same. Personally, I think they should have called it the Magic Stick. I use it everywhere-- eyeshadow, lips, cheeks. You name it! And it comes in any color you could possibly ever need.
